One!

We still cannot get over that Elsa is one! At first thought it felt like the year flew by, but at the same time, we are in awe over how much she has grown and all the little phases she's gone through already.  A little bit about Elsa at one year old...

Standing 29 inches tall (43rd percentile) and weighing in at 20 pounds, 9 ounces (63rd percentile), Elsa is full of life.  She has a great giggle (ticklish behind the knees), and an even better growl.  She lights up when "Dada" comes home from work and has the best hugs and kisses for her mom.

She has six teeth (four on top, two on the bottom) and is getting the hang of eating more solid foods.  It's taking a little longer than we anticipated, but she has started to enjoy more finger foods like ham, oranges, and cheese.

Elsa has joined the walking club, but still loves to do her "knee walking" around the house and thinks climbing up the stairs is the best game.  She enjoys grocery shopping, waving at everyone she meets, and pointing at things she wants.

Bath time is amusing for everyone involved.  Elsa loves splashing around and pouring out bowls and pitchers full of water.  When we rinse her hair and pour water over her head, streaming down her face, she giggles with delight.

Elsa is quite the bookworm - turning the pages and listening intently during bedtime stories.  She is especially fond of books that have textures or peek-a-boo style pages.  Some of her favorites are Goodnight Moon, Close Your Eyes, Goodnight St. Louis, and all the Sandra Boynton books.

She plays hard and thinks getting chased or chasing her parents around the house is hilarious.  She's becoming quite the fan of music - favoring toys that play songs and getting drawn into t.v. commercial jingles she overhears.  She is fascinated with other kids, especially her older cousins.  She wants to be just like them - drinking from cups, dancing around, and occasionally stealing their toys :)

 She's vibrant.  She's goofy.  She's sweet.

She's curious.  She's fun.

She's pure joy.
