A year ago this week, I was waking up well before the alarm clock, too excited to fall back asleep (because that day, just might be the day, our little girl would be there)...
Now, a bouncing baby girl serves as our alarm clock - not before dawn (usually), but still earlier than her dad would like...
A year ago this week, I walked everywhere in hopes to speed things along - up and down the hallways and in loops all around our neighborhood - waving at each passer-by Yes, I have a huge belly - Yes, any day now - Yes, we're ready - Yes, I might just walk for hours...
Now, thankfully, I have traded in the jelly belly for pushing a stroller - waving at the neighbors. Yes, she is getting so big - Wave hello, Elsa - Yes, I might just walk until she is fast asleep...
A year ago this week, our house was spotless. You could eat off my floors, the windows and mirrors sparkled, and there wasn't an object out of place...
Now, although Elsa has tried to, you probably should not eat off those floors. The windows and mirrors are decorated oh so sweetly with tiny hand-prints and if you aren't careful, you might just step on a block or rogue Cheerio.
A year ago this week, we had no idea how much our hearts could grow. We had no idea how much parenthood would change us for the better.
A year ago this week, I felt like time practically stood still. I can picture the events of that last week of October in high-definition. A year ago this week, we had no idea just how fast time was going to fly by for the next year...the calm before the storm - but the best adventure we could have ever imagined.
