Out & About

The first week of summer break Elsa and I barely left the house.  By choice.  We went for walks, played in the yard and with all her toys.  It was awesome to not have to load up the car seat or have any real obligations to do anything, but after a few days, we were ready to really start enjoying summer...

For Elsa and me that means shopping...
Look at this hot shot - finally big enough for the cart!

Dining al fresco....
First trip to Jaenicke's
 Yoga on Mondays...
Ready for our first Mommy & Me Yoga Class

Spending time at Grandma & Grandpa's...

Of course we still have plenty of play time at home too...

Dad's Day

Happy Father's Day to our Dads! With these two great men in her life, Elsa will grow up knowing which one is the Phillips screw driver, the score to whatever sporting event is on tv, and that between the two of them, they could probably fix or build her just about anything her heart desires.  We love you!

For Erik on his first official Father's Day,  there are few things that bring me as much joy as watching Elsa's face light up when you come in the door, or the way she looks up at you when you are reading to her.  They are looks I recognized immediately because they are the same looks I have been giving you for years - pure happiness to see you after a long day at work and a thoughtful look when I'm reminded over and over again how smart and funny you are.

School's Out

Our summer has started, but before we officially went on break, Elsa had some socializing to do...

First, she had to meet my 5th graders!  She was pretty quiet during our visit, taking in all the sights, and much to her dad's chagrin, making eyes at all the boys...

'

Speaking of boys, Elsa also had to say goodbye (more like "see you later") to her best friend Tatum and the best babysitter we could have ever asked for...Don't let the frowny face here fool you, she spent a lot of time playing and giggling with these two!

To celebrate the start of summer we made a trip to the park in Forrest to take advantage of the Elsa-sized swings.  She loved it!
