Counting Down...

We are less than a month away from Baby Boy Golden's arrival and the nesting instinct has hit hard. The baby's room is almost finished (pictures coming eventually) minus a few details and a beautiful area rug that seems to only exist in my mind. The freezer is stocked thanks to a fun little get-together with friends/co-workers. The hospital bag is coming together. A few more work related tasks to go, but overall, we are feeling pretty ready (if that's possible) for this little guy to join our family!

We've spent the past couple weekends marking things of our to-do list...

Haircuts (for all)....

Good excuse to stop at the Polka Dot for lunch!

We took a break from house work to celebrate Bapa's Birthday!

Erik's version of nesting...a bigger vehicle...

And mostly, we've been savoring little moments with this sweet girl...
Very proud of her "big girl" bed!

A Surprise Snow Day

Tuesday morning I was pretty surprised to get a 6am phone call saying there would not be school that day.  Usually I pay a little closer attention to the weather, but to be honest, finishing the Making a Murderer series consumed every minute between Elsa going to bed and me falling asleep...Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise to get an extra day at home with Elsa (although it made for a brutal work day today and messed with my busy IEP meeting schedule)...So how did we spend the day?

We started with a light breakfast and some electronic time (Kindle games for Elsa, searching for vacation rental houses for me)...

What snow day is complete without baking?!

Next up, we had a little pedicure session...

Followed by "dress up" (or getting into the drawer where we keep sweatshirts)....

and then some hide-n-seek....

We had to check on our snowman and make sure he was still there....

After a quick nap, we headed to Dwight to go to music class....

Afterwards,  I went to yoga while Elsa enjoyed the State of the Union Address with Grandma and Grandpa!
