One and a Half

Last week Miles turned 18 months old. We celebrated by baking cookies since Miles loves to help in the kitchen :)

I can't get over how much Miles has grown over the summer. He is down to taking just one nap a day, gets into everything, and amazes us with his new words and expressions each day (current fave: shaking his finger and saying,  "No, no, Dada"). He continues to be small and mighty...at his 18 month check-up, he weighed in at 22.9 pounds (30th percentile) and was a whopping 31 inches tall (9th percentile).

He is our little love - he always has kisses to give and makes the cutest kissing face by sticking out his bottom lip and leaning forward. He loves to snuggle and lately has really liked playing dolls with Elsa and taking care of his babies. This past week he has been "singing" - he's a big fan of "Baby Beluga" and climbing up on the fireplace to perform with Elsa on their "stage."

Don't let that fool you - he is a wild little man! He climbs everything and will swing anything that remotely looks like a baseball bat (hairbrushes, brooms, etc...). He loves things that Go -  bikes, cars, (specifically Bapa's truck) and choo choo trains. He wants so badly to ride a bike and scooter like Elsa - I have a feeling next summer he'll be cruising Timber Ridge Drive right along with her.

A glimpse into our future!

Happy Half Birthday (a few days late), Miles! We love you!

Swim Lessons!

Elsa recently completed her first swimming lessons experience at Stevenson Pool in Dwight (a place very close to my heart -- I worked there for 13 summers)! It was interesting for me to be out of the pool during lessons, but I think I held my helicopter parenting to a minimum :) Fortunately, Elsa loved her two weeks of lessons and is already talking about going back next summer!

First Day - Ready to Go!

Back floating champ!

Elsa loved her teacher Ceci and her buddy Opal!

Miles enjoyed lesson time too - thank you Kiddie Pool...

But also thought the big pool looked pretty awesome...

She passed! Level 2, here she comes!
