Flott Family Vacation 2017

We've only been home for two days and I'm already daydreaming about going back to Hilton Head Island (even after 28+ hours in the car with the kids)! The whole crew stayed in a house my parents rented in the Sea Pines Resort are of the island. We loved the beaches, the restaurants, live entertainment, and all the beautiful scenery. Many memories were made for sure! Although I took a lot of pictures, I don't think they do the trip justice - sometimes you just have to put the camera down and jump in the waves! Here's a few of the highlights though...

We celebrated a couple Flott girls' birthdays during our trip...

Some of us made the drive down to Savannah for a day. We took a trolley tour, but it was beyond hot so we didn't do too much exploring...we'll just have to go back (maybe without toddlers)!

The adults (except Steph and I - we stayed back with the kids and made magical memories of attempting to take 5 children out for breakfast, to the park, and shopping) went on a fishing excursion. At one point Erik texted me that they'd caught four sharks. I assumed he was joking. He was not.

Cort got his Lighthouse Passport stamped!

On the way home, we made a quick visit to the Louisville Slugger Factory and Museum. It was a really neat place and a great way to break up the long drive!

The Goldens Go to Iowa

Erik's sister Kaylee is interning with the River City Bandits, the minor league baseball team in Davenport, IA, this summer. Therefore, the Golden family decided to start off summer with a little baseball and check out Kaylee's new gig. We started our weekend with a stop at the Family Museum in Bettendorf. The kids loved it - especially the Sid the Science Kid Exhibit (we heart PBS). Later, we met up with the rest of the family for a Bandits' game. Kaylee was able to hook us up with a sky box behind home plate which was pretty much amazing (and I'm convinced the best way to "watch" a baseball game with small children)! After a late night, we spent the morning swimming and hanging out at the hotel.  Great way to begin our summer, for sure!
