A Tale of Two Pumpkin Patches

In attempts to wear our kids out during the weekend so they fall asleep early so we can watch the Cubs make memories, we've been getting outside a lot to enjoy this beautiful fall weather! Of course that means a trip to the pumpkin patch! Over Columbus Day weekend we made our first trip to Rader Farms outside of Bloomington. It has just about everything you would want in a pumpkin patch - tons of activities, yummy fresh donuts and cider, and not too far from home. It also had insanely long lines. For everything. Even though it was very crowded, we had a fun couple of hours -- and agreed we'd never come back on a weekend!

Elsa loved the little play houses and stores!

Fell asleep waiting in line for a snack...time to head home!

Feeling like we didn't quite get enough pumpkin patch fun, we decided to visit Jones' outside Pontiac. It might be the exact opposite of Rader's....not quite as professional, not very polished, and most importantly - absolutely no lines. Elsa wanted nothing to do with taking a hayrack ride to pick a pumpkin, but we still had fun playing in the other areas!

On the Move...

Miles will be eight months old tomorrow -- I feel like a bit of a broken record or cliche, but it feels like I blink and the month has passed already. September was definitely a busy month for the Goldens - and it seemed extra full now that Miles is moving all over the place and can't be out of sight for a minute! He isn't quite crawling - it is more of an army crawl/propelling himself forward, but he can get across the room in a flash and loves to pull himself up on anything and everything!

At eight months old, Miles weighs in at 17 pounds. His hair has lightened in color quite a bit and I'd guess we are close to getting some teeth. The kid will chew on anything (unless it was made for teething, of course).

Cannot get enough of those baby blues...
