Elsa Suzanne,
Tomorrow, you are two years old. We are in total awe of you - how much you've grown, how much joy you bring, how much you learn each day.
In your second year, you have become quite the linguist. Your vocabulary is unlimited - xylophone, stethoscope, delicious, adventure...not only saying singular words, but stringing them together - Ride in Bapa's truck, Thank you, Daddy, Close the door, Here I come, See you tomorrow...and on, and on, and on.
Although you can be quite demanding, your sweetness melts our hearts each day. You have excellent manners - please, thank you, you're welcome, bless you, and you give the best hugs and some pretty messy, but oh so lovable, face-grabbing kisses.
You love to play doctor (you do a great fake sneeze), play with your Little People sets and baby dolls, and cook in your kitchen. You are an avid Bubble Guppies ("Buppies") fan and love to sing and dance along while you watch. You love to have races and make up silly games with daddy around the house, and lately you have become quite good at hide and seek.
You know your colors and shapes, can count to ten, and are starting to say the alphabet. You love seeing family members and can call them all by name.
Over the past couple of months, you've just grown so much. You sleep better (technically, you sleep great - in our bed....we're working on it) and you decided solid foods are pretty good (if there was a mac 'n' cheese eating contest you would easily win). You just seem more and more like a big girl, and not our little baby each day. Which leads us to one of your next big steps coming up soon. Many people ask how you feel about becoming a big sister. Really, you don't quite get it yet, but we are confident you will love doting over your new baby brother (or bossing him around). We are excited for you to take on a new role and we hope you have the type of relationship with your brother that will eventually become a lifelong friendship.
In general, we think you're pretty awesome. You've made our lives more fun and a lot more unpredictable. Your silliness reminds us to slow down and enjoy all these moments. We are grateful for your health and that you are one happy, spunky girl.
Happy 2nd Birthday, Elsabug! We love you!
